Happeechapee

A mom delivered quadruplets the other day! It was such a big deal at the hospital and bantays of other patients were crowding the hallway to look at the babies that the administration had to restrict people from coming close to the babies for immunity reasons. Newborns are highly susceptible to airborne microorganisms. Buti nalang the staff is free to visit them anytime :9

Boy, girl, boy, girl. The youngest (1st from right) is quite sick though kaya may IV siya :(

Anyway, volunteer duty has been really fun these past few weeks. It's so much fun that I'm actually more disappointed if I can't go on duty (like today, pero dapat family duties muna eh). Last year, I had to literally drag myself to go on duty, yung tipong nasa doorstep nako ng hospital and I'm still arguing with myself whether I'm gonna go in or just go home instead.

Fortunately, I've found new duty buddies that are so fun that work doesn't feel like WORK anymore. Parang joke time everyday lang. We're permanently on afternoon shift now since permanent morning shift yung girl na di namin gusto.:5 Afternoon shift is much more fun. Less people, less crowd, although not less chores. And we all look forward to snack breaks and dinner time. We're not really supposed to go out of the hospital during breaks, but then again, we're just volunteers so they can't really do anything about it. Eh gusto namin mag Jollibee eh :m

Once, we had dinner at Jolibee (which was quite far from the hospital), tapos may doctor na dumating. He recognized us so he said hi but he wasn't really expecting us to be "on duty" that night. One of us joked na baka pupunta rin sa hospital yung doctor mamaya kaya mabibisto kami. But we didn't really expect that to happen since he was with his family. Later that night, dumating talaga siya! We were all shocked and so was he. We didn't know what to say kaya we just smiled. He was like "hmm...?" but he just smiled back. He didn't say anything bout it.:wee Yung iba kasi, magsusumbong sa Nursing office. Thank God for good doctors.:12

This is us on a not-so-busy-that-we-have-time-to-pose-for-a-timer-shot day. These are the days when the 70-patient ward stays at 70-80. But sometimes it gets crazy around there when the census reaches 110. Imagine patients on the hallways. They sometimes just have to literally REFUSE admissions in the surgery ward because there's nowhere else to put the patients.

And these are the meds on a not-so-busy day. These meds are just for 8&9PM though. There's another set for 6PM and another set for 4PM meds for the entire afternoon shift. On unfortunate days, those meds would be twice as many while on fortunate days, that tray would only contain around 6 vials.

*Dilute the vials with strile water.
*Withdraw the ordered dose with a syringe. Compute if needed.
*Go find the patient whose name is on the vial.
*Repeat 80 times during the shift.:k

Sa ibang dako ng chismis, THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSES ON MY PREVIOUS POST. THEY"RE ALL HIGHLY APPRECIATED :D I tallied your choices plus my friend's choices and the second bag won. So I got the second bag. The black one was actually a Kathy Van Zeeland bag while the second one was a Tommy H. Mas mahal nga lang ng a few hundreds yung Tommy but still worth the price. :)

Eight now, I need your help again. This time, they're both have the same price, similar style but different color.

WHICH WOULD YOU PREFER FOR A CASUAL BAG?

Comments:
