Whew
Everything bout Bangs has been so messed up lately.
Last Saturday night, my Bangs bugged down for some carzy reason. It wont turn off, instead, the Apple logo just kept on blinking. And since our PC at home isnt supported by iTunes (coz it's winME), I had to wait til Sunday afternoon to use Mia's laptop to restore the settings. After about an hour of tinkering, it still didnt work, but atleast it showed a folder and an exclamatio point this time (which I think was better than a blank screen or an Apple logo). So again, I had to wait after my hospital duty yesterday so that I could have it checked in Tornado. I couldve brought it straight to where I bought it but since they didnt repair Ipods there, they'd have to send it to Manila to have it checked, which would basically take a month before I could get it back. So I chose to have it checked by a reliable repair shop, hopping that another Restore by a more knowledgable person would revive my Ipod. After an hour of anxious waiting, I went back to the shop hoping to hear the good news. True enough, a Restore by a newer version of Ipod Updater did the trick. But they told me not to drain the battery coz the PC wont be able to detect the Ipod if the battery was empty. That's odd, I thought. I've been reading a lot of advices from numerous forums that it was advisable to drain the battery. Being the hard headed that I am, I tested my newly revived gadget and kept it playing til thebattery got drained. I tried to charge it in my PC and after 15 minutes, the Pc finally detected it and it started charging. Whew.
While all these were happening, little did I know that my receipt was in my pants which was already hanging outside after being washed that night. When I remembered, it was too late. When i felt the pockets, all I felt was a ball of wet paper. With tears almost ready to fell, I tried to carefully reconstruct it peice by peice. The middle part where my name and the product details can be found was quite ok, although the edges were all teared up from being wet. It was bad enough seeing my receipt, my only key to having my Ipod repaired in Apple Centers for FREE was nothing but a wet, crumpled peice of paper. But what I saw next made me want to cry and scream at the same time. THE SALESLADY WROTE THE WRONG SERIAL NUMBER!!!
Since I have registered my Ipod in Apple's site, I was quite familiar with my serial number already and I was soooo sure that the last character was K and not X!!! When i checked the box, indeed it was K!!! I didnt know what to do. I wanted to hurt myself for being so careless and I wanted to strangle that lady who wrote the receipt at the same time!! But I could do neither. So I made up a plan: Trot back to the store where I bought the Ipod, kneel down infront of the store owner and beg for another copy of the receipt!
So this afternoon, after I went off from hospital duty at 3pm, I headed straight to the store. The husband, the manager/owner wasnt around so I spoke to his wife which was at the counter. I started explaining to her everything that happened and what I needed, after everything I said, she just smailed and said "huh? ahh..." and then called a saleslady to entertain me. Turns out, she didnt understand a word I was saying since they were chinese and she wasnt familiar with the dialect. Ngark. So that explains why everytime I ask about their products, she's just smile at me and turn me over to a saleslady. Now I know!
Anyway, I spoke to the saleslady who entertained me when I bought the Ipod and explained to her [again] what had happened and pointed out to her that she had written the wrong serial number . She told me she wasnt sure if the manager would allow her to issue another copy of the receipt since blah..blah..blah...BIR...blah..blah..and told me to come back later so that I could talk to the owner. She told me that maybe the owner might agree to have their copy of the receipt photocopied.
Fast forward 2 hours after....
I went back to the store and found the owner. Without hesitation, I explained to him what happened and told [begged] him what I needed. Fortunately, without further questions, he told the saleslady to issue another original copy of the receipt for me!! Weeeeeeeeee!!!! I couldnt be more happier!! So I kept an eye on the lady issuing the receipt and made sure that she wrote the correct serial number this time. I also made it clear with the owner whether I could bring back my unit incase it really was defective and whether they would be the one to have it checked in Manila by Apple free of charge. He said yes and that was all I wanted to hear. Whew.
So everything's settled now. Incase my Ipod messes up again, I wouldnt think twice and bring it straight to them so that they could have it checked in Manila. I heard Apple replaces defective units free of charge as long as there's a receipt. :)
So now, I'm surfing Ebay for skins and accesories. These and these are lovely, but I cant find them anywhere. So I surfed Ebay for brand new items and found this. The bidding closes in less than 24 hours so I hope no one else bids on it. :) Just perfect. I wanted to get the Altec Lansing Portable Ipod Speakers sold in a soon-to-be-closing computer shop who's having a closing out sale but some cruel being got it days ago. :(
Q: What's worse that having expensive accssories?
A: Finidng no accessories available in the city you live in!
Anyone willing to ship Ipod accessories to Visayas? ;)
Anyway...I might be taking some time off from blogging. Case Presentation is coming up plus this 1 week duty is eating up all of my time. So I guess I'd have to see you next week!!
SORRY I CANT TAG AND COMMENT RIGHT NOW! WILL MAKE IT UP LATER! :)
HAVE A NICE WEEK EVERYONE!!!!
Oh, and since I had my Ipod reformatted, it's no longer Bangs. Im thinking of giving it a simpler name. Something related to how it looks. Since it black..let's call her.......WHITEE. :)

BANGS
Meet my new toy, Bangs, short for Bangus.

Yeah, it's still naked. Im having a hard time looking for new suits. It's either not what I'm looking for or it's too expensive!
Tatah for now, gotta introduce myself to my new friend more. She seems rather shy. :)

Customized Comment Box
I spent 4 hours last night trying to figure out how to edit the comment box. I wanted the comment form shown in my main page so that vivtors wouldn't go through the hassle of waiting for the comment page to pop-up.
I found a couple of sites which offered various blogger hacks but THIS site has the one that I wanted [note to self: include site in the credits section]. After a dozen previews and a couple of edits, I finally came up with a single line comment form with the author's name and site url.
Now, you can type your comments directly under the entries. AND THAT LEAVES YOU NO EXCUSE NOT TO COMMENT! Heheheh :)

The Sky's Pink Tonight.
Let's get it over and done with. Here's me, looking like a boy with bangs. :)
The End.
--------------------------
Yesterday, I learned that I can actually trade in my SE k750i and add 4k for a brand new 30 gig Ipod Video or a new Nokia 6680; or the new Motorola L7 SLVR for 3k. Ogash.
I wanted to trade it for the new Moto but when I checked GSM Arena earlier, I found out it doesnt have an FM radio [which was the main reason why I chose k750i over N3230 in the first place] and a 2-megapixel camera. Aside from its sleek design, it doesnt do much. No special features. Toink.
So I searched for the N6680, no luck there either. The way I see it, it's features are pretty much like the 6600 plus an additional camera. Aside from the 3G feature, the additional features can be downloaded and installed in the older symbian phones (e.g. 3650, 3660 and 6600) if you know where to get them in the internet. ;)
So there, that leaves me with the 30 gig Ipod Video. I want it. I've been giving it a lot of thought. The reason why I decided to get the k750i was because it had an FM radio, an mp3 player, 2-megapixel camera and I wanted something not from Nokia. I enjoyed this phone. I still do. But the accesories! They're so expensive! The cheapest casing I can find costs 800pesos! That's just the front casing. If I choose to have everything changed, it would add up to 2700! Casing pa lang yan ha. Although I can get fake earphones for 250, it doesnt fit perfectly unlike the original ones which would cost me another 2000pesos.Waw. The memory card is another story. 1gig memory stick would cost around 6k, although a lot of fake memroy sticks [which costs almost half the price of the original ones] are spreading around like fake Ipod Nanos. But who would want to invest with something that dies after 2months?
Anyway, I figured out, if I gave up my k750i, get the Ipod Video and settle for a cheaper camera phone, I'd still get what I want. If I get a 6600 [or if I get really desperate, settle for my good ol' 3650], I'd have a camera, a video cam and an mp3 player minus the FM radio BUT I'd have 30gigs worth of disk space for all the music I can ever think of plus a storage for pictures, videos and even movies! But I dunno...a lot of people have been telling me to stick with my phone. They dont think trading it with an Ipod is worth it. They could be right, you know.
Kaw, what do you think? Should I go for it? If you were in my place, what would you do?
The End.

Arg.
I did it.
Had my hair cut yesterday.
I wanted it short.
But the trainee [take note: first time niya], cut it way shorter than what I wanted.
Ano pa magagawa ko?
I actually look like a guy now.
Without these tiny clips infront, you'd mistake me for my brother.
I like how it's short coz it takes less than an hour to dry my hair and I dont have to spend so much time styling it.
But I hate the fact that it's so short!
I have to start loving my hair.
I'm actually starting to like it.
But I cant get over the fact na pinagpractisan ako! I shouldve known! I shouldve figured it out when I noticed she wasnt wearing a uniform unlike everyone else in the parlor!
But then again, what can I do? Andito na to...
Pero ok na rin..not every girl can dare to sport a hair as short as mine.
Denial...denial..denial...
