Happy Red-Letter day!
The pc's home, pero medyo may phobia nako dun, baka ano na namang mangyari pag ginamit ko. So im better off with this trusty old Windows 95. :)
Before I post my year-end entry, post ko muna ang last pics from my friends' last days in Dumaguete before they flew off to their respective planets for Christmas.

Glass tables at SuperBake with different ornaments. Unique noh?

Napagtripang cross stitch

One of the very rare moments where Silliman becomes quiet and peaceful.College of Nursing, College of Arts and Sciences, Katipunan Hall and Science Complex

Another beautiful part of Silliman when its peaceful. Silliman Church and Hibbard Hall.

First things you see the minute you step out of the halls of SU.Scooby's, Silliman Avenue, and the old yet functional Silliman Post office.

Portals of Silliman. Since 1901 :)

One fine day :)

Cupcake anyone?

Good company, good food, good music = one fine day.
Back to the future.
We had our duty at the delivery room today. Our first delivery was CRAZY. The three of us switched roles unintentionally. I didnt know what I was doing. But it ended well. Pero nakakahiya pa rin. I cant even clip a needle in a needle holder the right way!! (Doctor: "Is this how you do it?" "im right handed" "use your commoon sense"...but atleast she said thank you when we were done with suturing the epsiotomy.) Plus my position, ang IV na hindi na-prime, and when doctor asked for a pick-up, I almost gave her a clamp! I wouldve been busted big time if Albert and Rizza were not around. Whew. Life savers. :)
The second time around was better and my presence of mind was more...present. But we didnt get to finish the procedure. We were supposed to go off at 4pm but the doctor incharge of the episiorrhapy had other appointments so we had to extened. Our clinical instructor had to leave early coz she had other things to attend to so she left me, Rizza and Tawi to finish our procedure. 5:30 na but the doctor still wasnt around. The nurse in charge was kind enough to let us go even if di namin natapos yung episitomy repair. She said she'd credit our procedure nalang kahit di nako mag assist sa suturing, besides, umuwi na rin daw yung instructor namin. So she just asked us to wash the used instruments then she let us go. Sana ganito kabait lahat ng nurses. :)
Tomorrow is another day. Sana maraming manganak bukas. :)
Gotta get some sleep. Tatah for now!

HELP?! (Calling all computer geniuses ou there!)
Question: What's worse than blogging with a dial up connection?
Answer: Blogging with a dial-up connection in a Windows95 pc!!
Yes, Im typing this entry using my ancient, trusty, old but functional mean machine that runs under Windows 95. This not-so-baby pc is as old as my cousin who's now 10 years old. I was in 4th grade way back in 1995 when my aunt purchased this thing. High tech na high tech to dati. Back then, Freetel pa ang uso kasi wala pang MIRC. I can vividly remember when my aunt used to chat with people from around the world in a black screen and neon green letters. I was was always in awe as I watched my aunt type the night away.
Fast forward to 5 years later, the age of the laptops came. Since then, this mean machine has been nothing but a bulky thing that took up space in my aunt's office. So being the greatest fan of this pc, I begged my mom to allow me to bring home this computer and put it in my bedroom. After a while of bargaining, my mom finally decided it wouldnt hurt if I had my own computer in my room. After all, it wouldnt cost them a single centavo.
So there I was, happily enjoying my new found peace of antique. Until one day, the mean machine caught a very dealy virus that made it very ill. I made numerous phone calls to different shops whether they still repair a WIN95 pc. But to my despair, they either no longer have the right accessories or they simply just didnt consider repairing such an old peice of junk was worth their time. What made it worse was that this thing doesnt even have a usb drive! It wouldve been easy if it had one. I was about to give up when I made my last phone call to the last computer shop in town, and yey!! they agreed to take a look at this old thing. After a few questions, diskettes and one week later, the mean machine is up and running. I brought it back home and handled it with utmost care. I've had great memories with this thing, including making my first layout when I first started blogging. Pinagtiyagan ko talaga. But when school came, everything had to be in a rush, and it sometimes gets in my nerves when it takes me 5 mins to open the yahoo homepage and another 10 mins to show the search results. The mean machine just cant keep up with my hectic school life. So I decided to give the mean machine a long vacation. I went back to using our family pc downstairs. Dont get me wrong, I didnt plan to abandon mean machine, I just thought its better off resting for a while.
It's been almost 6 months now since I last said hello to this old thing. And i'm glad it still flashes its warm welcome when I push the power button on. :)
The reason why I'm back to my old habit is because I got our family pc busted the other day. I didnt do it on purpose, mind you. I was typing my school year end entry while the Mcaffee Antivirus Update was downloading. When the update was finished, bigla na lang siyang naghang. So I pushed the restart button, feeling annoyed knowing that my heartfelt entry was down the drain to nowhereland. The desktop wallpaper took a long whle to appear, so kinabahan nako. Much more when the desktop icons didnt appear at all. Instead, I got this message:
SYSTEM ERROR: Windows cannot read from Drive C: If this is a network computer blah blah blah. If this is a local disk, check the connection (or something like that).
What could I have done wrong? I cant say its a virus since I havent downloaded anything this week and the only pages I opened were gmail, blogger, tinypic, photobucket, my blog and blogs from my links. I cant think of any reason at all. My brother suspected it had something to do with the virus scan update. But after entering DOS mode and uninstalling the antivirus software, it's still not working. Now, he's suspecting there's something wrong with the hard disk. He'll try to have it checked by his technician friends on Monday, so that means no decent pc for me till then.
AND THAT MEANS NO BLOGHOPPING FOR ME THIS WEEKEND (until the computer gets fixed). SORRY FOLKS!
Please understand that this mean machine isnt as mean as it used to be before. My blog doesnt even show the same colors when viewed on this pc. But I'll try my best to answer my tags and comments (if this thing doesnt breakdown yet :) )
Lastly, let me just greet my friends who celebrated their birthdays this month.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAUDETTE, KALOY, SUZZIE, KRINITZ and to all bloggers who are so many I cant mention you all!!!!!
To the rest, (we dont celebrate Christmas sa religion namin eh, so I cant say Merry Christmas), so ano, HAPPY HOLIDAYS NALANG! ENJOY YOUR VACATION!! :)

As promised, I shall post the complete lines of the poem which Suzzie wrote. So here goes:
At first, I though it would be ok to put your guesses on my comment box, but then Dante, who made the first guess on my comment box got the answer right away (way to go!). So I thought it wouldnt be much of a challenge anymore if you could see others' answers.
Nonetheless, CONGRATULATIONS to all those who tried but didnt get the answer! :) ( melai, jassy, xdspot and the anonymous guessers). It was fun knowing what's in your mind. And your guesses were same as mine before. [I didnt get the right answer either :) ]
Thanks din to jessa, irish, france, micah and russ.™ for trying to try!! Hehehe :)

Message in a Bottle
When the bottle was empty, we argued a bit on who gets to keep the bottle since it was too pretty to throw away. Fiona suggested that since we were at the beach, we write something on a peice of paper, put it in the bottle and throw it in the sea instead. So we did just that. Fiona wrote a message for a guy she liked whom she met over the weekend who hasnt texted her yet. And for the fear that she gave the guy a wrong number, she included her mobile number too, with the hopes that the bottle would someday reach the town where the guy lived. :) Yangyang wrote a short christmas-new year-and-valentine's greeting for the person whom she hasnt gotten over with for the longest time. I, on the other hand, didnt show them what I wrote. It was for a person whom I missed. It was short, but true. Who and what the message contained will be between me and the sea. (unless of course someone finds the bottle, reads the message and broadcasts it all over school.) Before covering the bottle, each of us sprinkled sand inside the bottle and made a wish.
We stood at the shore and Yangyang threw the bottle to the sea. Yangyang's attempt to throw the bottle just a few feet away proved that the bottle would end up where we were standing by the next day. So Fiona attempted to rescue the bottle and after getting half of her body (with her pants on) wet, we decided to walk to the end of the airport runway where it would be far enough from the shore.

this is where we threw the bottle

that's the view of the shore from where we threw the bottle.

and this is the airport runway
And just a few seconds after I threw the bottle, a man in a motorcycle came to us screaming for us to leave the runway right away. Apparently, a plane was arriving and you could just imagine what happens when that plane lands and we were still and the runway's end. So we didnt argue, we left and hoped that the sea would someday grant our wishes.
We walked back to the shore laughing our heads off thinking about the crap we just did and getting each other wet. Then we thought of the consequences when somebody, a schoolmate to be specific, finds the bottle and reads our letters cause afterall, we werent the only students who hangs out in Silliman beach. But then again, what the heck, it was fun anyway.
After that, we left and headed to school because Fiona had to meet Mara. Yes, we were still went and sandy from the water fights. After a quick hi's and hellos and avioding every teacher that came our way, we decided to leave before anyone questioned why we were dressed that way. We headed to bosing's in escano for dinner. Yangyang dropped fiona and I before she went back to fetch 2 of her basketball friends who were coming over too. After a few minutes, she came back with one. She introduced Julie to us and told me that Mydah, her other friend was on her way..with my brother. Heheh..So there, it was the first time I hung out with my brother and Mydah. But it's all good....
After an hour, it started to rain and before we can reach the streets, it started to rain hard. After that, they brought me home.
It was one good anniversary. :)

life is a fish
I cannot believe intrams is over. Good things never last. :(
But hey, we did it again. We won! College of Nursing bagged the Overall Champion for 2005 Intrams! WOOhoo!!
Intrams was fun. Although I feel bad for both our men and women's basketball team. It's heart breaking. But hey, there's always next year.
We had one day off today since we won in the intrams. Yeah, that's our college ritual. That's why students never get tired of cheering for our team, so that we could win the games, become the champions, and have an extra day off the following week. :)
Last Saturday was Fiona's birthday. She had an event in swimming that's why we couldnt celebrate her birthday early. We were planning for an overnyt party at the beach but guess who wasnt allowed by her parents? yeah.... So we ended up having dinner at Gimik instead. And I learned how to play billiards. It was my first time and I enjoyed it eventhough our game lasted for 45 mins. Through the entire game, I only scored one ball. And Im proud of it. :D
Tomorrow will be the start of two very long stressfull weeks. There's the lecture presentation, nursing rounds, hospital duty, physical assessment, gazillion-page handwritten requirements, and my ward class next week. I know I shouldve atleast prepared for some of these but my lazy subconscious self knew better. Now I have no idea how Im gonna finish all these.
My good friend, Samantha Fernandez, will be getting married on December 11 in Bacolod City. You might have seen her in the Suncellular commercial. And those of you who have a Sun sim might recognize her as the mestiza girl on the sim pack. I feel so bad that I cant go. It's on a Sunday. We have duty on Saturday and I have a class on Monday morning. Im sure our instructor wont excuse my absence if I dont show up in class on Monday. Its just so impossible with my schedule. I didnt even attend her bridal shower last Saturday. There were so many things to do in school. :( Sorry.
I am getting lamer each and every day. I cant even come up with a decent post.
